Who am I ? // vegetarian, travel, thoughts

Hello World,

Who am I?

I recently visited a exhibition at the science museum in London about who you are and what makes you you in the biological way, they showed us how our brain works, why we sleep and much more of what I couldn’t all take in. As you know if you really read my blog, I was vegan for a little over a month. At first I was trying it out for a month but after I’ve done 1 week I was sure I wouldn’t go back. But after a little over a month I went back to being vegetarian. I am a full vegetarian now, I don’t eat meat nor fish. I am really thinking about the efficiency of being vegan or vegetarian. To make one thing clear, I am in no way going back to eating animals (I can safely say that after 3 years now), but living vegan wasn’t doing much good to me. I ate massive portions and wasn’t quite satisfied (also in combination of that fruit eating, less fat, etc.) and I lost interest in food, because I spent so much time about what I’d want to eat next and what is vegan and all the people I’ve talked to, we were always talking about veganism. No other theme, I didn’t like it any more, I wasn’t feeling happy and I simply saw, that you can’t get enough nutrients without those vitamins and if you think you can (some can, of course, I don’t think I can) and yo keep on like you do and then get tested in one year or more and then you discover issues it is simply too late. The last thing I want to stress on is that you miss out on so much food, you really do, so I broke that veganism trip in London. Now I want to do vegan days or week(s), my food spectrum only enriched, but I can’t do it always.

I learned very much about my body the last few weeks, if I don’t move enough I need to run, if I eat too much fat (german food from grandma) I need to slow down and eat green again, if there are too many people on one spot I need to get away, if I don’t feel happy I need to eat and sleep and I have to make what I want, meet people, travel. And crisps and sweets really don’t bring that much satisfaction, right?

Who are you?

Herzlichst, Taykure.

Vegan Raspberry-Brownies

neu brownie

Hello World,

this vegan (ugh-mazing) raspberry brownie in the shape of a teddy I made for me brothers birthday, so that I wouldn’t feel left out. Yup I loved them, maybe you should use more sweetener for kids, as they usually like it as sweeter as possible…

Th Recipe is adapted from Love & Lemons (again!), click here for the original recipe.

  • 1¼ cups spelt flour (or blend of white/wheat)
  • ¾ cup agave syrup (I used the rest of my maple syrup, too, so about 2/4 agave nectar and 1/4 maple syrup)
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup almond milk (I used oat milk, again)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil (I used vegan butter -> magarine, again)
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • about 5 handful of frozen raspberries

Mix the wet ingredients, mix the dry ingredients, mix together. Oil your form and fill your cupcakes (form) halfway up, add in a few raspberries (preference) and cover with more dough. Bake for 15-18 minutes at 325 degrees. These are best if you under bake them slightly (since there’s not very much oil in the recipe). I didn’t use the icing, because I don’t like icing, that’s just me…

I hope you like this inspiration and let me know what your favorite type of cake is!

Herzlichst, Taykure.

Amsterdam {travel; #2}

Hello World

this is the second post, where I show you my photos from Amsterdam.

Click here for the first post!

We not only wandered through many streets, we also ticked some other boxes, such as

– Visiting a cannabis tourist shop

– Ate french fries on a fashion/vintage market (there were also many other vintage shops big love!), the best-ever french fries of me life (they were heaven)

– Ate waffles in a very amazing pancake restaurant, they had a whole variety of different ones.

– Visited the Anne Frank museum (and went to the toilet in a cafe while we were waiting, I sounded like a 9 year old when I asked the über-pretty lady if I could go haha) and saw the little statue of her, where the queue starts.

– Got wet in the evening after a long, walk day and slept in the nicest bed I’ve ever slept in, I need one of those beds from the Park Hotel Amsterdam!

– Saw a room full of hanged books (see below).

– Tons of Bikes, some so pretty I had to take a snap.

– Found the real Arke Noah.

Still there is many more to explore, for example the Van Gogh Museum, I could kick my ass, that we din’t went in there, but in one and a half days, you can’t do everything! Have you seen these places yet?

Amsterdam {travel; #1}

DSC_0551 Hello World,

today I share with you my photography of the trip to Amsterdam last summer. This city was and is a dream for me and I am really hoping to get back soon and explore more! We went to all the little grachten and brugs in the red light district and also the district around that one. Don’t get all panicky about those districts, they have really pretty corners and there aren’t that many shops of that kind anyway. Just wandering around the city, visiting the little vintage and ‘normal shops, cafes, restaurants and looking at the water and ugh-ma-zing houses there made me so so happy! I am a lover for this old architecture and probably all the scandinavian parts of the city/country (I love scandinavia any way). I get reminded of how I want to live later on and how I want to decorate my room now! The lifestyle there is fantastic (of what I’ve seen), not only that the city lives off bikes and boats, the people are funny and friendly. Just wander around, let it all sink into you. This is part one, part two will come in just some time, until then you can look around

Girl Online by Zoe Sugg |Review

Hello World,

yes I know 2 book posts in 2 days is much, I apologize, but I just finished Zoe’s first book Girl Online and it really is a feel-good novel.

Here’s what the back of the book says:

“I have this dream that, secretly, all teenage girls feel exactly like me. And maybe one day, when we realize that we all feel the same, we can all stop pretending we’re something we’re not… But until that day, I’m going to keep it real on this blog and keep it unreal in real life.

Penny has a secret. Under the alias Girl Online, Penny blogs her hidden feelings about friendship, boys, high school drama, her crazy family, and the panic attacks that have begun to take over her life. When things go from bad to worse, her family whisks her away to New York, where she meets Noah, a gorgeous, guitar-strumming American. Suddenly Penny is falling in love – and capturing every moment of it on her blog. But Noah has a secret, too, one that threatens to ruin Penny’s cover – and her closest friendship – forever.”

Well first of all, I really loved the story and the characters, that’s completely made up by Zoe aka. Zoella and the writing part is done by a book publisher – I think.

It plays in Brighton and mainly in New York, two cites I adore to visit one day and they are described in the most perfect way possible! I also love the diversity of the characters and how they are like real people in our lives! I also liked the way she divided her blog posts with her real life and it is great to see how this person writes on there. I must say that this book isn’t at all advanced writing, but that’s okay and I got through it quickly – in about 2 days – without any question mark words. It’s nice how the character loses her temper, too and how she deals with very weird situations. Overall I can only advice you to buy that book online if you don’t live in a english country (I got it through amazon) and read it. Especially if you feel sad!

I am already excited for her second book in this series and I’ll post some sketches of how I see the characters in my head, soon!
